Welcome to Here's Williamsburg!

We hope that this will become your go-to blog for everything Williamsburg-related, from food to history to business openings and closings, to exclusive scoops that you won't find anywhere else.

Like at our sister site, Here's Park Slope, we're out walking the neighborhood beat nearly every day, speaking to local business owners and keeping track of the goings-on in the area. Think of us as the person at the party who somehow knows everything that's happening.

Soon in this space you'll begin to notice exclusive coupons and offers for local businesses, as well as a few other surprises down the road. So follow us on Twitter and Facebook (links are to the left), and check in every day for local scoops as well as business profiles, interviews with bartenders, foodporn, and some history.

Looking forward to having you along for the ride!

Coming Soon: SEWMoni, 330 South 3rd Street

February 5th marks the second New York opening of Moni Briones sewing and crafts company, SEWMoni. Compared to her Ridgewood, Queens location, 330 South 3rd (between Keap and Hooper Streets) will be Moni's spot to host sewing classes, local craft meet-ups, and co-host weekend pop-up shops that feature local craftsmen and designers. Moni's humble beginnings from her home in Brooklyn has brought her into the lime light selling fabrics, accessories, "vintage finds", sewing machines and more.

On the 5th, Moni will be running the first of many-to-come classes focused on the art of sewing. You'll have the opportunity to take beginners classes, crafting workshops, and clothing construction courses. If you sign up now you'll receive a fifteen percent discount when using the discount code: sewwilliamsburg. Pricing ranges from $160 to $240 for a four week period, depending on what it is your going for.
